Bahar & Adeel had an exquisite Persian ceremony and reception at The Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia. One of the things that I love most about photographing weddings is that I get to see traditions and customs from around the world. Placed in front of Bahar and Adeel, during the ceremony, was a 20-ft long Sofreh Aghd. This is a beautifully set low table with sweets, gifts, mirrors and treasures placed on top, each with a special meaning. My favorite part of the ceremony was when the women who were important to the bride and groom took turns holding lace above the couple (symbolizing the home), while someone was grating sugar over the lace (to symbolize a sweet life together). How cute is that?! I was also very fortunate to work closely with great friends on their wedding. My friend Alisha did her make-up & The fabulous team from DVideography did the amazing video. Brian Toner of Eventions did the all important lighting. Bahar and Adeel were so much fun! We took some time out of the 6 hour reception to run up and down Broad Street. It was such a beautiful night!
