An Estate Wedding in Gladwyne Dec. 11, 2009

Words cannot begin to describe the absolutely stunning wedding of Melissa & John. I could use words like, over-the-top, exquisite or supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and still not do it justice. Joe Volpe, of Cescaphe Ballroom, who is a good friend of the family, was more than willing to make this wedding stand out from any other.
Following the ceremony, thanks to a gift from Melissa's aunt, Melissa and John released beautiful white doves. We decided to stay local to take portraits. Our first stop was the Gladwyne Hardware Store! It was a beautiful spot, with mums lining the outside of the store. It had a quaint & hometown feeling about it. We then headed to the Rolling Hills park, just steps away from Melissa's childhood home, where the tall grasses and stone walls seemed to be created specially for this day. We headed back to Melissa's parents home in Gladwyne for the reception. The guests walked on a red carpet to be welcomed into the home, with a quick red carpet photo-shoot as a guest book. Cocktails were served on the back patio of the stunning historic home. Cescaphe's well-known towering displays of food were thoroughly enjoyed. Mango colored pillows lined the slate edges of the terrace and a beautiful fireplace added a little heat when needed. Creative lighting was used to set the perfect scene for the bar.
As the guests made their way into the grand customized tent, they picked up their name cards, which were displayed on a beautiful table decorated with crystals, candles and ribbons. The tent glowed with Melissa and John's name monogrammed overhead. Magnificent topiaries & lanterns lined the walkways and decorative accents hung in the trees. This was only a small preview of what their guests were in for! Walking through the doors and entering into the "outside ballroom", the white dance floor and black monogramming made the perfect centerpiece for the room. Hanging over the dance floor was a custom accent, a circular dome with fringes. The fringes were displayed throughout the room, hanging from ceiling to tabletop, over several tables. The table centerpieces were just as creative and original.
At this point, we knew Melissa and John would not just walk in, they were going to make a GRAND ENTRANCE! All of the guests held lit sparklers and surrounded the newlyweds for their first dance. The evening did not slow down from there! ( While photographing guests during dinner, I ran into a dear friend from high school. It was great to see Jon and his beautiful girlfriend ).The funniest part of the night was watching their crazy cousin from Italy (who spoke not a word of English). He singled out every woman, including me, onto the dance floor and threw us around like rag dolls. Seeing Melissa & John surrounded by such warm and loving family and friends was really touching. Tony & I felt honored to have been chosen to capture all of their happy and exciting moments.
