THE BREAKERS PALM BEACH WEDDING – ASHLEY & TREVAN

As you look through these images, it is quite obvious why I love this couple and their family… Blonde bombshells, idyllic setting, exceptional taste & impeccable sense of design. But these are actually least of the reasons why I love this family!

I was first introduced to the Begley Family through Brynne, the first of the daughters to get married. Brynne’s wedding was at the Union League in Philadelphia. Since then, Brynne and Ryan have had two beautiful babies and I have photographed them ever since. Then Ashley and Trevan became engaged and I was one of the first calls!

The Begley family spends their family vacations every year at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach Florida. They happily refer to it as their “Happy Place” and it’s easy to see why. With the girls growing up vacationing at The Breakers and having so many wonderful experiences there, it was easy to see how they were so inspired! Ashley knew this was where she wanted to get married. She is also the lead designer in print and patterns for Lily Pulitzer who has a flagship store at The Breakers with her painting covering the walls. Ashley’s art is inspired by the colors and patterns seen in Palm Beach.

The energy and determination that Ashley and Trevan bring to their everyday life is awe-inspiring. Trevan used that same determination to track down Ashley after briefly seeing her on a train and then following her in a cab.

The morning of the wedding was full of laughter, sunlight and beautiful details. With The Breakers being such a special place, for the bride and her family, we made sure to take some time before the ceremony for portraits. One thing I know about Ashley is she likes things a little out of the ordinary with a refined style. So when she gave the girls beach hats… we decided to use them for some bridesmaid portraits.

The Royal Poinciana Chapel was the perfect setting for their vows and portraits after the ceremony. The sun shined through the palm trees, creating that beach glow that every bride dreams of! As we were completing our portraits, I asked Ashley and Trevan if they wanted to go into their cocktail hour or try for some beach portraits…

Without hesitation they opted for the beach photos, yay. As we walked to the beach the sight of crashing waves hitting the Breakers with force gave me pause. Before I could say anything we had kicked off our shoes and Trevan swiped Ashley into his arms and made a run for it. Timing the waves to make sure they did not hit them or us, we made it through to a “dry” space. At first we were all very excited and full of energy, but when I said lets take a moment and feel the calmness of the ocean, they did just that. These images are some of my absolute favorites from the entire day.

After cleaning sand off our feet, getting the bride and groom into their cocktail reception, we were off to photograph the ballroom! Larger than life bouquets of baby’s breath filled the room, Every detail provided by The Breakers Design Studio and staff was exquisite, they truly capture the family’s vision and some. The dreamy cloud painted ceiling, arches, columns and checkered floor were absolutely beautiful features to the exceptional tablescapes filling the room. Keeping with the style of the ballroom, white and gold filled the room. A very special detail of the tables were the patterned napkins created by Ashley. Ashley used that same pattern for groomsmen shorts, invitation, wedding website and napkins. She is a truly talented artist.

The rest of the evening was filled with hysterical moments like; A lift at the end of their first dance and Trevan surprising Ashley with his groomsmen choreographed serenade featuring light-up shoes. Tony and I were beyond thrilled to join them on this most memorable trip and photograph them at their “Happy Place”!

A little thank you to the Begley family: I hold your family near my heart and you will forever be one of my most cherished clients! Thank you for allowing me the creative freedom to create stunning images of your most cherished moments!
